Tour P1: Ephesus & Pergamon

Day 1: May 15

Early flight to Izmir. After a short visit of the ancient Smyrna and the City, proceed to the ancient city of Pergamon. Visit the temple of Athena, Temple of Trajanus, Agora, Library - Altar of Zeus and Asklepeidon, which is the world's oldest and first medical treatment center. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Pergamon. Dinner and overnight in Kusadasi.

Day 2: May 16

After breakfast at the hotel drive to Meryemana and visit the House of Virgin Mary. Continue to Ephesus, the Roman Capital of Asia Minor. Visit the ruins of Odeon, Hercules Gate, the temple of Hadrian, the magnificient library, Agora and fantastic greco-roman theatre. Lunch will be taken at a local restaurant. Dinner and overnight in Kusadasi.

Day 3: May 17

Return flight to Istanbul from Izmir in the morning.

360 Euro in single room + airfare (approximately 150 - 180 Euro).

Tour P2: Ankara & Cappadocia

Day 1: May 15

Transfer to Istanbul Airport for flight to Ankara, upon arrival, visit Museum of Anatolian Civilization. One of the best of its kind. Lunch at Old Ankara Castle. Continue drive to Cappadocia which will be a 3 hours drive. Upon arrival check in to the Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: May 16

Full day tour will take you all the places to be seen at Cappadocia, including underground city of Kaymaklı, which was used by the Christians of the 7. AD. as a hideout place from persecutions. Travel to Uchisar, a natural citadel, will enable you to enjoy a splendid panoramic view of the area. Lunch at a local Restaurant, after the lunch, visit of the Göreme Valley, highlight of the Cappadocia region. This valley houses rock churches and monasteries painted with colourful frescoes. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.

Day 3: May 17

Transfer to the airport of Kayseri or Ankara for the flight to Istanbul.

Tour P3: Antalya

Day 1: May 15

Early travel from Istanbul to Antalya by plane. Afternoon tour at the Roman Emperor Adrian's Gate, and visit of the Old Harbor and Archaeological Museum. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Antalya.

Day 2: May 16

Buffet breakfast. Departure from the hotel for a full day tour to the Pamphylian Cities of Perge, Aspendos and Side, with their impressive ruins and well preserved theatres in the fertile plains of Antalya. Visit of the ruins of the Great Theatre, the Stadium and the huge Hellenistic and Roman Gates of Perge, and then drive to Aspendos to see the best-preserved Roman theatre in the region. On the way to the ancient city of Side, visit of the Manavgat Waterfalls. Lunch will be served during the tour. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Antalya.

Day 3: May 17

Buffet breakfast. Visit of the ancient city of Phaselis. Swimming on the sandy beaches, as well as a chance to wander Roman and Byzantine inspiring ruins. Lunch will be served in Demre. Afternoon visit of the finest examples of Lycians funerary architecture found at Myra, and of the church of St. Nicholas. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Antalya.

Day 4: May 18

After breakfast at the hotel, return back to Istanbul by plane.

430 Euro in single room + airfare (approximately 150 - 200 Euro).

Tour P4: Cappadocia, Konya, Pamukkale, Kusadasi

Day 1: May 15

Transfer to Istanbul Airport for flight to Ankara. Visit Museum of Anatolian Civilization. and Musoleum of Atatürk. After lunch drive to Cappadocia. Dinner and overnight (L,D).

Day 2: May 16

Breakfast at the hotel, morning visit to the underground city of Kaymakli & Citadel of Uçhisar. After lunch continue with the valley of "Göreme" & open air museum. The last sites will be Pasabag valley and Avanos. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight (B,L,D).

Day 3: May 17

Early departure for Konya. On the way, visit the 13 th century Seljukian caravanseria "Sultanhan". The next stop will be Konya which is famous with Mevlana Museum and the Theological Scholl of Whirling Dervishes. Lunch enroute, drive to Pamukkale (B,L,D,).

Day 4: May 18

Breakfast and visit the ancient city of Hierapolis. The ruins of the biggest Necropolis Graveyard of the ancient world, Roman Baths, Bazilica and calcium cliffs. Drive to Aphrodisias. After lunch visit the Greco-Romen settlement which is remarkably well preserved. The ancient city is dedicated to the Godess of Love, Aphrodite. Drive to Kusadasi, dinner and overnight (B,L,D).

Day 5: May 19

After breakfast at the hotel drive to Meryemana and visit the House of Virgin Mary. Continue to Ephesus, the Roman Capital of Asia Minor. Visit the ruins of Odeon, Hercules Gate, the temple of Hadrian, the magnificient library, Agora and fantastic greco-roman theatre. After lunch visit the Basilica of St.John, drive to Izmir and transfer to the airport (B,L).

540 Euro in single room + airfare (approximately 150 - 180 Euro).

400 Euro per person in double room + airfare (approximately 150 - 180 Euro).

All tour prices include transportation, guides, entrance fees, lunch and accommodation where stated, service charge and VAT. (The current VAT rate is 18%; if increases it will be reflected on the prices).

Participants are highly recommended to reserve tours before arrival as on-site requests will be subject to availability. Full payment of tours is required for reservations.

Reservation Procedures

Tour reservations may be made by filling in the Accommodation & Tours Reservation Form(at Registrations web page). Confirmation will be made on full payment of the tour price.

CANCELLATION OF POST CONFERENCE TOURS must be sent in writing to Conference Secretariat.

Cancellations made:
21 days before departure date                : 100% refund less €30 for administration costs.
7 days before departure date                  : 50% refund less €50 for administration costs.
After 7 days before departure date         : non-refundable.

Please note that the deadline for the post-conference tour reservations is April 1, 2008. Any sign up requests after this date will be confirmed upon space availability.
